DARing to Level Up: Professional Development Request

    DAR Leadership encourages all employees to pursue conferences and other learning opportunities tailored to their specific job training needs and professional development goals. This training must be in alignment with DAR’s Pillars for success: Leadership, Collaboration, and Impact.


    Professional development requests should be submitted via the DAR Level Up: Professional Development Request Form via Smartsheet. Please enter all requested information, including estimated travel costs and a brief explanation of what benefits are expected to be gained from this opportunity for both you and DAR.

  

  The form should route automatically to your supervisor and others required for approval (including the VP Office). Once routing is complete, you will receive confirmation of approval via email. Please note that this form can be submitted by the employee or by a supervisor on an employee’s behalf.


    Five days after the conclusion of your professional development experience, you will receive an email from Smartsheet to submit a summary of takeaways and how it will benefit your current position, the department and/or DAR. This will be recorded directly onto the Smartsheet and made available to the VP Office.

Will the attendee be presenting at the conference/training?*

Please note that if you are attending a conference and presenting, you are expected to first provide a presentation on campus to a small group of colleagues before attending the conference. The purpose of sharing internally first is to promote collaboration and the sharing of ideas across our division, and to provide you with an opportunity to rehearse and refine your presentation prior to presenting. Once approved to present, please work with your supervisor to discuss the logistics for your on-campus presentation.


Please note that after attending a conference, you will be prompted to write a brief summary of your experience and your takeaways highlighting any information you learned that could benefit your team or our division. This information will be shared with your supervisor and the VP office (via Brittany Rider).
