SD EMSC partners with the SD Office of Highway Safety to promote Bike Safety in the state of South Dakota. As part of this initiative, we have our "Don't Thump Your Melon" Helmet program. These helmets are available for organizations (schools, healthcare providers, law enforcement, community groups) that want to have a Bike Rodeo with Helmet Fitting or offer Helmet Fittings. These helmets are not available to order by individuals not associated with a community organization.

Bicycle helmets will be shipped on a first come, first served basis.

*** Minimum order of 24 helmets per event. It is up to SD EMSC's discretion if more than 24 will be approved per event. If you have questions, please reach out to sdemsc@usd.edu.

Helmet sizes:

Small: fits up to an average 5-6 year old

Medium: fits 6- 12 year old

Helmet features: Easy fit dial turn ring retention system, Quick release nexus buckle, Shock absorbing EPS Liner, and aerodynamic plastic micro-shell.

By placing this order for bicycle helmets, you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks associated with activities where helmets are worn. You agree to release and hold harmless South Dakota EMS for Children, its officers, agents, and employees, from any and all liability, claims, or demands arising out of or related to the use of the helmet, including but not limited to personal injuries, property damage, or other incidents.

Resources provided by SD EMSC are available to organizations located in South Dakota.
