K-12 STEM Travel Grant Application

The NASA Idaho Space Grant Consortium's K-12 STEM Travel Grants program is designed to get Idaho K-12 students out of the classroom to have hands-on STEM experiences. Often, a major barrier to accessing these experiences is the cost of transportation. These grants seek to offset some of the cost of transportation. K-12 STEM Travel Grants can be used to travel to science centers, STEM competitions, and other STEM-related activities -- preferably those aligned with NASA's interests or featuring NASA resources. Maximum award per application: $1,500 Minimum cost share per award: 1:1 *Note that cost share is often in-kind time, not cash out-of-pocket. Number of awards available: varies based on demand and available funds Deadline to submit application: at least 30 days before your activity takes place Please note that once you leave this application, you will not be able to open it back up to make changes. With that in mind, we strongly recommend that you have the following prepared before starting the application: 1) A concise description of what you are requesting funding for and how the funding will benefit you, ISGC, and other major beneficiaries. 2) A 250 word maximum summary of your proposed project. 3) A brief letter from your district financial office or principal approving your proposal. 4) A budget for your project complete with cost share (See below for a link to the budget template) Budget notes (Please find a budget template here: https://www.idahospacegrant.org/grant-management): *The ISGC contribution is limited to $1,500. *If awarded, you will need to invoice the ISGC to receive your funds. You do not receive the funds up-front. Receipts must be provided with the invoice. *All ISGC grant funds require a non-federal cash or in-kind match equal to the amount requested from the ISGC. *Although the minimum amount of cost share is 1:1, any additional cost share above that amount is welcomed. *All individuals supported with ISGC funds, or contributing in-kind time for match must be U.S. citizens. *ISGC funding cannot be used for food, international travel, marketing materials, or capital outlay (equipment). Although food is not allowed, per diem is allowed.
