2025-2026 Regional Administrators Training

Registration Form

The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) and California Department of Education (CDE) Desired Results (DR) System Regional Training will offer a virtual training series for administrators on the Desired Results System to improve program quality. The training model includes online, facilitated training from October through May and optional coffee hour sessions every other month.

The administrator training incorporates an overview and in-depth information about the DR system; the implementation of the system at the classroom, program, and agency levels; reports including analysis of self-evaluation data and data for quality improvement; and additional support on specific system components. Participants can also complete selected online modules available at California Early Childhood Online (CECO) www.caearlychildhoodonline.org.

Experienced administrators may attend any virtual session after October 8. The training session for administrators includes methods to support the implementation of the DR system, updates, new products, and job aids. Please register for these sessions in advance.

Registration for administrators is on a first come, first served basis, determined by the following priorities:

  • New child development program administrators who hold contracts with CDSS and CDE
  • Recommendation from a CDSS or CDE consultant (required to attend all sessions)
  • New program directors and site supervisors
  • New administrators responsible for conducting the agency’s professional development
  • Quality Count California programs and Family Home Child Care Providers (These programs are welcome, though certain material or training sessions may not pertain to your current work.)

Participants will earn professional learning hours per session attended.

College credit:

Credit for one academic or continuing education unit is available for the new administrator training. Academic unit requirements include attending all sessions, completing selected virtual modules, completing a final report, and completing an assignment.
