Club Courage Volunteer Application


Club meets every Tuesday from January 28 - March 4, 2025.

This support group is for children ages kindergarten-12th grade who have experienced a loss through death, divorce, separation, incarceration, or deployment.

Volunteer Positions

Participants are divided into small groups of peers their age. At least two counselors are assigned per group and are responsible for facilitating the provided curriculum and offering grief support to their group members. Superheroes fill in as substitute counselors, provide one-on-one support to kids as needed, help with check-in and pick-up, facilitate large group games, and otherwise assist the Director.

Acknowledgements

 

All volunteers must complete Child Protection Training prior to the start of the program (this training is provided at no cost to the volunteer). Once completed, Child Protection Training will be valid for two years.

  • Volunteers are expected to attend the Club Courage in-person training Tuesday, January 21st from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. at Hendrick Hospice Care.


  • Volunteers are expected to attend Club Courage in its entirety:
  • Tuesday, January 28th from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, February 4th from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, February 11th from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, February 18th from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, February 25th from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, March 4th from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.


  • Volunteers should give at least 24 hours notice if they are unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances.
