Payment

OLLI at UVM is completely self-sustaining and depends on an endowment from the Osher Foundation as well as membership and course fees and the active participation of member volunteers to bring a rich array of affordable courses and events to our OLLI members. We are able to offer an honorarium of $125 for presentation time. We welcome and appreciate any in-kind donation of time.

Please indicate your payment preference.

Speaker hereby consents and authorizes the University of Vermont to use video, including digital, recordings, presentation materials, photos and voice recording from this presentation for OLLI students who registered for the presentation for up to 90 days following the presentation. Please describe any reasonable accommodation requests you have for yourself, if any, in order to carry out your obligations under this agreement:

Accessibility

By entering into this engagement, I will make every reasonable effort to create a presentation that is fully accessible to individuals with disabilities. Upon request from UVM, I will modify your presentation, provide materials and adjust formatting, as needed, in order to assure the accessibility of UVM’s programming. If this is a live event, UVM may require live captioning by a CART provider to ensure accessibility to attendees. In that situation, the CART provider will be paid by UVM, and I agree to assist in setting up the CART provider prior to the presentation.

Independent Contractor Relationship

Unless I am already paid by UVM as an employee via payroll, my relationship with UVM is that of an independent contractor and not a partnership, agency, joint venture or employment relationship. I understand I am not authorized to make any representation on behalf of UVM unless specifically authorized in writing to do so by UVM.

Cancellation

If I cancel the event, I will make best efforts to notify UVM as soon as possible. I understand that if I do not present as scheduled for any reason, UVM will not be responsible for honoraria, stipend, fees, costs, expenses or damages. I understand that UVM reserves the right to cancel the event if, in its sole discretion, it has determined it is no longer in UVM’s best interest to host or for any reason beyond UVM’s control.

Entire Agreement

I understand that this constitutes the entire understanding between me and UVM relating to this subject matter and supersedes all prior or contemporaneous oral or written agreements between us and may only be modified by mutual agreement in writing.

Our Common Ground

Please keep in mind that OLLI presenters are representing the UVM OLLI program. Please review and respect UVM's Common Ground Policy. The University of Vermont is an educationally purposeful community seeking to prepare students to live in a diverse and changing world. We who work, live, study, teach, do research, conduct business, or participate in the University of Vermont are members of this community. As members, we believe in the transforming power of education and agree to help create and foster an environment where we can discover and reach our true potential. We aspire to be a community that values: RESPECT. We respect each other. We listen to each other, encourage each other and care about each other. We are strengthened by our diverse perspectives. INTEGRITY. We value fairness, straightforward conduct, adherence to the facts, and sincerity. We acknowledge when things have not turned out the way we had hoped. As stewards of the University of Vermont, we are honest and ethical in all responsibilities entrusted to us. INNOVATION. We want to be at the forefront of change and believe that the best way to lead is to learn from our successes and mistakes and continue to grow. We are forward-looking and break new ground in addressing important community and societal needs. OPENNESS. We encourage the open exchange of information and ideas from all quarters of the community. We believe that through collaboration and participation, each of us has an important role in determining the direction and well-being of our community. JUSTICE. As a just community, we unite against all forms of injustice, including, but not limited to, racism. We reject bigotry, oppression, degradation, and harassment, and we challenge injustice toward any member of our community. RESPONSIBILITY. We are personally and collectively responsible for our words and deeds. We stand together to uphold our common ground.
