The Software Engineering internship is one of RMIT's flagship Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) programs which is embedded within the University's approach to industry-relevant education and training.

Please see the Bachelor of Software Engineering program information and courses via this link.

Students gain the practical experience and work-ready skills they need to thrive in industry.

Industry partners can benefit in a variety of ways, including:

  • Building a talent pipeline who are familiar with workplace culture
  • Injecting enthusiasm and new ideas
  • Developing links with the University
  • Upskilling existing employees to supervise and mentor the interns

Opportunities are promoted on RMIT jobs notice board via Career Hub where we can specify any skill requirements.

For students to receive credit towards their studies, the following guidelines must be met -

  • Full-time for 40-weeks, paid at the national minimum wage or relevant award
  • Position descriptions to be submitted for academic approval
  • Must be software-based e.g. not basic IT helpdesk roles
