Home Stretch Survey
Increasing access to reliable internet services is a top priority for Frederick County. Executive Jessica Fitzwater as part of our ongoing efforts to bridge the digital divide, Frederick County’s Office of Rural Broadband Information has received a FY24 Home Stretch - Difficult to Serve Properties Grant from the Office of Statewide Broadband. This grant is specifically designed to provide high-speed internet to addresses that are unserved due to their distance from existing service lines.
Program Details
- Each address may receive up to a total of $14K, including contributions from the State, the County, and Comcast applied to the construction.
- Addresses with long driveways exceeding 1,000 feet may need to contribute to the construction cost.
- Addresses lying less than 1,000 feet from the current service line may be eligible for 100% funding.
How to Apply:
- Funding for this program is limited and will be distributed on a first-come first served basis.
- The deadline to apply is December 31, 2024.
