Bar Exam Volunteer Proctors

The OSB is looking for volunteers to proctor the July Bar exam in Portland, Salem, and Eugene.
 

Responsibilities Include

• Proctor an exam room of approximately 10 to 40 examinees • Maintain strict control of all exam materials and processes • Oversee examinees to prevent cheating • Immediately report any cheating concerns to Admissions Manager • Respond to examinee questions regarding exam process • Follow direction of Board of Bar Examiners members and bar staff

Volunteer Requirements

• Active or Inactive OSB membership in good standing • No pending bar inquiries or grievances • Must agree to disclose any family, household, close personal or financial relationships with individuals taking bar exam and certify that you have no conflict of interest • Willing to execute nondisclosure agreement to maintain confidentiality of all exam materials and processes • Willing to wear personal protective equipment

Time Commitment

• One hour on-demand video training to be viewed between July 14, 2020 and July 21, 2020 • Tuesday, July 28, 2020 and Wednesday, July 29, 2020 • 7:00 am to 4:30 pm each day with one-hour lunch break.

Expense Reimbursement

• Bar will provide breakfast and lunch per diem of $31.00 each day of exam • Bar will reimburse mileage at IRS rate of $0.575 per mile to and from home and the exam site each day
 

Additional Information

• OSB will distribute exam room assignments on July 21, 2020 • Approximately 10 to 40 examinees per exam room • The preference is that volunteers will work both days • One-day only volunteers are appreciated • All staff, volunteers and test-takers will be required to wear a facemask while the exam is in session. The Oregon State Bar will provide all staff, volunteers and test-takers with facemasks and gloves. Volunteers are welcome to bring their own facemask, gloves, face-shield and/or surgical gown for their protection
