Program Application for Nature Programs

We strive to offer inclusive nature education programs for all ages and abilities. Our hope is that all participants have an opportunity to connect with nature, each other, and themselves, while learning about science. .

Nature-based field trips are 1.5-2 hours in length, and generally combine exploration and inquiry with a specific topic.

Field trips can supplement or complement classroom learning. Some topics are best learned at a specific park or during a specific time of the year.

Please check our availability calendar to see if we have staff available for your preferred dates. Availability calendar: https://www.portland.gov/parks/environmental-education/available-dates

Programs take place in Portland's parks and natural areas. Visit a list of common locations at https://www.portland.gov/parks/environmental-education/common-locations

We are able to accommodate two programs with the same school or organization in one day as long as our staff is guaranteed a 30-minute lunch break. If your group size is larger than 30 or there are two classes wanting to join on the same day, this will be the best option. (Note: This may require that you occupy half the group while our staff works with the other half.)

We are available for programs Tuesday through Friday and some weekends if staff capacity allows.

Scroll down the list to find morning times, afternoon times, and options for having two programs in the same day.
