National Classification is required for some domestic para fencing competitions. (Refer to individual entry conditions).
National Classification is also required prior to an athlete being put forward for International (IWAS) Classification.
Athletes wishing to put themselves forward for National Classification are usually expected to have a basic ability to participate in wheelchair fencing (this would be assessed by a registered coach).
All athlete assessments and allocation of sports class and sports status comply with World Para Fencing Classification Rules. Any World Para Fencing International Classification will supersede National Classification.
