Job Description


Center for the Arts “CFA” Ushers provide superior customer service to patrons. They interact with the general public, Front of House staff and on occasion other CFA staff and clients.


Tasks include:

  • Assist patrons around the CFA Concert Hall; help them find their seat location, restrooms, etc.
  • Scan patron tickets, greet patrons
  • Be able to implement and inform patrons of various performance policies and emergency procedures
  • Demonstrate knowledge of ADA laws and terms, and serve patrons with disabilities


Required Qualifications:

  • Proven high quality communication skills
  • Ability to manage your own schedule
  • Must have availability on nights and weekends
  • Interest in the arts
  • Minimum shift requirement is 24 shifts for Paid Ushers and 12 for Volunteer Ushers per year (September – August). 8-35 shifts are typically available per month (this varies based on schedule and time of year)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Customer service experience

Paid Ushers have an hourly wage of $12.41/hour and are required to work a minimum of 24 shifts in a season.

Volunteer Ushers are required to work a minimum of 12 shifts in a season.
