Teen Night Expectations
We won't ask much of you, just that you're:
- Respectful of yourself, each other, and the space we're in.
- Inclusive because we all deserve to belong and find support here.
- Safe and make safe choices.
- Yourself. This space is what you make it, and you will make it great.
A few things we won't allow in this space or on the property: alcohol, bullying, discrimination, smoking, vaping, drugs, weapons, or violence.
If you damage property, you will work with the Town, YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka, and/or the ideaLAB & Library to replace it.
Unless you tell us otherwise, we will assume permission to take your photo during any Teen Nights programming or events.
The safety of Teen Nights participants, and the community, is our priority. There are some situations when the Teen Nights staff must report issues or concerns to people who can help:
- If staff suspect or learn that a young person is being hurt by an adult, they have a duty by law to report it to a Children’s Aid Society.
- If staff suspect or learn that someone is in danger, or that someone is hurting themselves or someone else, they will take steps to keep everyone safe and supported, such as connecting a participant to a community service or crisis line or calling the police for help.
