Oregon Summer Sports Law Institute Application

Application Information — Please Review

Qualified Oregon Summer Sports Law Institute applicants will be in good academic standing and will have a background in sports law.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis beginning in January and continuing through May.

If you have any questions about the program or the application process, please contact our Director, Ryan Gauthier.

For non-UO law students, the application process involves two steps:

STEP ONE: Complete the biographical information, as requested.

STEP TWO: Upload four documents (in PDF or similar format):

  • Updated résumé
  • Law school transcript (unofficial is fine)
  • Letter or certificate from your home law school dean or registrar that confirms you are a student in good academic standing
  • Cover letter that indicates why you are interested in the program and what you hope to achieve by attending. Also feel free to include any other information you’d like us to know that isn’t obvious from reading your resume.

After submitting your completed application, you will receive a form email to confirm that everything is in order. Our faculty director will then email you regarding your application status within two weeks. If you do not hear back promptly, feel free to reach out to Professor Gauthier directly.

There is no fee required to apply. However, assuming you are admitted, we will ask for a $500 seat deposit within three weeks of receiving your notice of admission. We will send you the deposit link after you have been assigned your nine-digit UO-ID number.

The University of Oregon School of Law is accredited by the American Bar Association and is a member of the Association of American Law Schools. We are an equal-opportunity, affirmative-action institution committed to cultural diversity and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
