Endocrinology Visiting Resident Request Form

Stanford Endocrinology may host visiting residents from other ACGME-accredited residency programs for 2-4 week rotations in diabetes and general endocrinology, subject to availability and space.


Stanford GME accepts VR from the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredited residency and fellowship programs in the United States. The Medical Board of CA recognizes graduates of Canadian medical schools for a full unrestricted CA Medical License.


However, the GME office is unable to sponsor Canadians on Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) on J-1 visas for short-term electives (less than one (1) year).


Eligibility Requirement:


  • US/Canadian Medical Graduates
  • One (1) year residency(internship)/fellowship

  1. Personal statement describing interest in endocrinology and in the endocrinology program at Stanford (less than 500 words)
  2. Curriculum vitae
  3. At least 1 – 2 reference letters from your residency program, including one from your residency program director indicating you are in good standing and are meeting all required competencies
