Partner Compliance Review Form

This form requests information that will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee of the Board of Trustees of The Appraisal Foundation. Where possible, please answer the questions directly on this form; otherwise attach additional sheets to the form referencing the question number.


For your convenience, we have emailed you a copy of your organization’s immediate prior review or its application for partnership. Where appropriate, please confirm that the materials submitted previously are still current. In the case that any of the materials have been amended, new copies should be attached with the amendments highlighted for our convenience. In the case of large files, such as course materials, a copy of the cover and table of contents will suffice. When providing a document, please indicate the attachment number in the space provided.

A. Criteria Applicable to All Organizations

 

A.1. The Appraisal Foundation Mission and Vision

Vision Statement

The vision of The Appraisal Foundation is excellence, unity and trust in the valuation profession.


Mission Statement

The mission of The Appraisal Foundation is to advance the valuation profession by setting standards of excellence, promoting education and upholding the public trust.

 
 

 
 
 

By submitting this form, representatives of your organization certify that they have read and understand the Vision and Mission statements and the Code of Conduct for Individuals and Organizations Affiliated with The Appraisal Foundation.

 

 

A.3. Not-for-Profit Status

The partner shall be and must continuously remain organized as a not-for-profit organization and qualified as an organization exempt from the payment of federal income taxes by the Internal Revenue Service under the current IRS code or the equivalent if the organization is chartered outside the United States.

Required by All Organizations:

  • If changed since prior submission: Copies of the Form 990-T and any additional relevant correspondence that indicates your non-profit status with the IRS (or with your enabling jurisdiction for International Partners).


  • Copies of comments to Foundation exposure drafts (if applicable).



Required by Appraisal Membership Organizations ONLY:

  • If changed since prior submission: Documentation (such as Bylaws or organizational charter) that confirms your organization's adoption of USPAP. If any changes have been made affecting the adoption of USPAP since its original adoption, please submit any material evidencing the changes. Additionally if you have adopted supplemental standards or other requirements please submit a copy of such standards or requirements


  • If changed since prior submission: Provide documentation indicating that your organization requires its designated members and those seeking designations to complete at least 15 hours of course work on USPAP (including an examination) within two years of the organization’s admission as an appraisal sponsor. Additionally, please provide documentation for the tracking of USPAP continuing education requirements, as outlined by the AQB for the appropriate appraisal discipline.


  • If necessary, provide a summary of ethical and professional complaints received by your organization and action taken by your disciplinary panel during the past five years. The summary should be generic but must list the nature of the complaint, source of the complaint (who made it, e.g., governmental agency, private person, association, etc.), when the complaint was made, action/​discipline taken and the time required to process each complaint. (For the purpose of this Criterion, a "complaint" shall be defined as it is used by your organization in its professional practice procedures.)


  • If your organization offers its own examinations and this has changed since your previous submission, please submit documentation of the examination, instructors notebook and any documentation necessary.



Required by Appraisal Membership organizations whose principal office is located outside the US:

  • If changed since prior submission: Copies of Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation
  • If changed since prior submission: Any other relevant documents indicating the adoption of USPAP or its equivalent.
  • If changed since prior submission: Documentation indicating that your organization requires its designated members and those seeking designations to complete at least 15 hours of classroom work on USPAP or its equivalent including its Ethics Provision every five years.
  • Documentation indicting your organization requires an examination.
  • If necessary, provide a summary of ethical and professional complaints received by your organization and action taken by your disciplinary panel during the past five years.
