The Oula Board of Wisdom utilizes each individual’s expertise to develop a framework to support and ignite the growth of Oula and the Oula community.

There are a total of five seats on the Board of Wisdom, with two currently open. If interested in applying, please submit:

• Your personal mission statement, indicating what you hope for the future of Oula

• Signed letter of understanding (you will be directed to this after filling out the application)

1. The Oula Board of Wisdom will serve the Chairperson of the Board in the following capacities:
2. To act as a continuing conduit in stabilizing the larger Oula community
3. To amplify Oula community voices during advising, using knowledge and experience from direct interaction with instructors and class participants.
4. To engage in reviewing proposals and to prioritize recommendations regarding how best to grow the community of Oula, both in the number of instructors and the number of people aware of and attending classes, globally. To share individual experiences that may enlighten and inform any reviewed proposals. To bring forward recommendations when able, which may better guide the direction of Oula and create the best outcomes for the Oula community.
5. We are seeking individuals with any mix of the following:
6. - strong organizational and program vision
7. an entrepreneurial and servant leadership perspective
8. project management skills
9. knowledge and aptitude for technology
10. marketing / brand management experience
11. customer service skills
12. finance / analytics experience
13. While the Board meets quarterly, availability to support committees and other projects is desired.
14. To maintain discretion and confidentiality with any information presented to the Board, any proposals made should remain confidential if and until the Board approves the release of information to the larger Oula community.
15. The all-online Board meetings take place quarterly and will be scheduled with a minimum of three weeks of notice. Meetings will be scheduled around member availability early in each month of October, January, April, and July.

Each Oula Board of Wisdom member will be paid a $100 stipend per quarterly meeting that is attended, with a maximum payout of $400 per year for participation. If a meeting is not attended by a board member, the member will not be paid the $100 stipend.

The Chairperson of the Board reserves the right to ask any board member to step down from board participation for any reason, and at any time. Participation at meetings is strictly voluntary, but board members who do not regularly attend board meetings will be asked to step down. Board members may also notify the Chairperson of their own wish to step down at any time and for any reason.
