Illinois State Plan on Aging

Share your feedback on the proposed Illinois State Plan on Aging which will go into effect October 1, 2025, for a three-year period. Under the federal Older Americans Act, each state is required to detail how it plans to serve older adults. This plan was crafted by the Illinois Department on Aging (IDoA) after hosting nine in-person and three virtual roundtables in the Fall of 2024, in addition to discussions with IDoA advisory council members, to gather feedback on priorities. This plan is also based on the area plans of the State's thirteen Area Agencies on Aging.
