Applicants are strongly urged to review in details of Chapter 12.09.070 of the Tacoma Municipal Code (TMC) prior to completing the application form. The entire TMC, including Chapter 12.09, is available at cityoftacoma.org.


Please complete the following application accurately to the best of your knowledge. This form is used for new permit applications and renewals.


There will be a $150 Permit Reporting Fee for any applicant that submits an Annual Recycling Report. This report is required or optional depending on the applicant (details below).

Licenses and Permits

Provide proof of all necessary permits and/or licenses required to engage in the requested activity described in the application. These permits may vary based on the type of material(s) your company hauls.

 

If you selected options 1a and/or 1b above in "Purpose of Special Permit," you are required to submit an Annual Recycling Report upon reapplication for a Special Permit.


If you did not select options 1a or 1b, you may submit an Annual Recycling Report in order to be eligible for a recycling tax deduction on Solid Waste Collection Business Taxes paid to the City.


A report template and guidelines are available for download on the Special Permits Webpage. A $150 permit reporting fee will be invoiced to any applicant that submits an Annual Recycling Report.
