All But Dissertation (ABD) Waiver Application Form

Graduate program staff complete this online form to submit an application for an All But Dissertation (ABD) tuition waiver on a student's behalf. Before continuing, please note that all students are required to meet the following eligibility criteria:

Have an approved program of study on file with the Graduate School.
Completed all graded coursework listed on the program of study, except courses with "seminar" in the title.
Passed the preliminary examination.
On an assistantship funded with external, non-WSU funding.

ABD Waiver Application Directions:

Please read the following information and answer the questions carefully. Once you have completed all fields, click "Submit" at the bottom-left. You will receive a link to download the official ABD Waiver Application form. After it is signed, please submit the completed form to the Graduate School within myWSU.

ABD Application Deadlines:

Priority Deadline: 8/1 for fall and 12/10 for spring: submitting by these deadlines gives ample time for the Graduate School to audit the student's record for eligibility and for departments to address any issues identified in the audit.

Financial Deadline: 8/15 for fall and 1/1 for spring: departments may submit until the financial deadline; however, there will likely be insufficient time to address issues identified during the eligibility audit.
