Center for Organizational Responsibility and Advancement (CORA) Courses for Mt. SAC Employees
As both a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) and an Asian American Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institution (AANAPISI), it is imperative that Mt. SAC employees understand how to better assist our students at every level and classification. Whether you are faculty, classified, confidential, or management, the Center for Organizational Responsibility and Advancement (CORA) has certificate courses designed to assist employees in better understanding the experiences of male students of color and how we can support them during their educational journey.
The licenses and online books for the below courses are provided for Mt. SAC at no cost or charge to employees through Professional and Organizational Development (POD). Click the links below to read more on each program.
- Teaching Men of Color at the Community College
- Supporting Men of Color at the Community College
- Course Design for Racial Equity
- Racial Microaggressions
- Black Ally Program - Dismantling Anti-Blackness On Your Campus: Core Competencies for Allies
- LatinX Ally
- Best Practices for Teaching in the Community College (new)
To set the correct expectations, those accepted into the course can expect to spend up to 15 hours completing their reading, watching videos, and participating in online modules. Participants are expected to conclude their courses within 60 days of enrollment.
POD will review interest forms and contact employees weekly until all licenses are allocated.
If you have any questions, please send them to Aaron Mezzano at AMezzano@mtsac.edu.
