IST Peer Tutor Interest Form

Welcome to the College of IST’s Peer Tutor interest form! This interest form is for undergraduate students interested in applying for the following position: Peer Tutor. The primary requirements are knowledge of content and familiarity and success with entrance to majors coursework. Peer tutors provide one-on-one and group coaching to help students practice and reinforce concepts in the College of IST curriculum.

Subject-specific tutors who help staff sessions also maintain partnerships with members of the IST faculty, so that they stay abreast of current trends. The peer tutor’s job is not to re-teach course material. Rather, peer tutors aid students in their learning by clarifying unclear concepts and supporting students as they practice skills and apply new understandings.

Successful applicants are highly skilled, advanced students who meet a strict set of qualifications, including a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
