ARP Late Liquidation Extension Request Form
The U.S. Department of Education has provided an opportunity to extend the liquidation deadline for ARP funds. Under this process, a State may only request an extension of up to 14 months past the close of the liquidation period (i.e., 14 months beyond the automatic 120-day liquidation period). Thus, requests submitted through this process may extend to, but not exceed March 28, 2026 for the ARP Act funds. The LEA/grantee deadline for submitting final Request for Funds forms will be December 31, 2025. Therefore, the LEA/grantee deadline to fully liquidate funds for which an extension has been provided by the U.S. Department of Education will be December 20, 2025.
Each State may submit only one request on behalf of the State and any LEAs/grantees that need an extension. The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) will be submitting, in the fall, a request for an extension on behalf of any LEAs/grantees that will need additional time to liquidate ESSER III funds that have been properly obligated by September 30, 2024. Section 76.707 outlines when obligations are made for various types of property and services.
Please complete the form below to submit a request for CDE to include your LEA/grantee in the request for an extension. A separate form must be submitted for each ESSER funding source and code.
