Monthly Portable

AED Inspections

Texas requires AED programs to keep up with maintenance, AED placement reporting, and EMS activation requirements. The Good Samaritan law protects all AED users, and many activities are covered. Immunity is not determined from the compliance of specified administrative and operational requirements. Texas mandates that AEDs be placed in certain schools, in dentist offices, nursing homes/facilities, extended care facilities, and at artificial swimming lagoons/swimming pools.

Monthly portable AED inspections will be conducted on a monthly basis, by the responsible department, as per Texas Administrative Code.
