Sanford Health would love to help you achieve your career goals as an RT. The RT Sponsorship is financial assistance to support tuition and other expenses while you progress through your schools RT program. Upon graduation, Sanford and the sponsored student will partner for a full time employment commitment at Sanford Health as an RT for two or three years. Current students are eligible to apply. This sponsorship can be used in conjunction with other financial aid.

ELIGIBILITY

• Must be enrolled in a full time accredited Respiratory Therapy Program
• Must maintain a GPA that meets program requirements and show forward progression through the program of study
• Must sign a contract before payments are processed
• Must commit to participating in Sanford Check-Ins (email, phone, or in person) during program of study

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

• Award of $15,000 or $20,000
• Recipients are not eligible for any Sanford Health Hiring Bonus being offered at the time of employment.
• Recipients agree to work for Sanford Health as a Respiratory Therapist for a period of 2 or 3 years in a full time status after successful graduation.
• Forgiveness will begin upon receipt of full time status as a Respiratory Therapist
• Failure to comply with any of the requirements of this program will result in repayment of the loan with interest.

• Essay on why you chose a Respiratory Therapy major and what you look to gain from working at Sanford Health (Max 500 words)
• Letter of Recommendation (this cannot be a family member)

DEADLINES

• Student must complete first set of clinicals before applying
• Deadline to apply is 3 months prior to student's graduation

FUNDING

Sanford Health provides this financial resource directly to the students selected through the application process. Any and all taxes associated with this financial resource become due at the time of forgiveness. You will see the taxes being deducted in the tax year of your employment as a full time Respiratory Therapist. This is in accordance with the Internal Revenue Services’ guidelines.
