Hot Work Permit Request



 

Introduction & Instructions

At Cal Poly Pomona, adherence to Cal/OSHA Title 8 Sections §4848 and §6777, the California Fire Code (CFC), and NFPA 51B: Standard for Fire Prevention During Welding, Cutting, and Other Hot Work is essential for all hot work activities, including welding, cutting, and grinding, which may present fire hazards. This applies to both temporary hot work projects and permanent operations conducted in approved designated areas. The Hot Work Permit Request system ensures all safety measures are implemented in accordance with these regulations and standards prior to commencing work.


***Submit requests at least two weeks before the first scheduled day of hot work to allow for processing and inspection.
