The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, located in New York City, NY is seeking exceptional Assistant or Associate Professor tenure-track faculty candidates who will develop and/or implement genomic medicine programs. We are seeking talented physicians or physician scientists who will work under the leadership of Dr. Eimear Kenny, Director of the Institute for Genomic Health (IGH), and Dr. Michael Murray, Chief of the Division of Genomic Medicine (DGM) and Clinical Director of IGH at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

We are on the verge of a clinical evolution that will leverage knowledge from deep databases of human genomes and clinical information from large health systems to change the practice of medicine as we know it today. The candidate must have an MD or MD/PhD and have expertise in clinical genetics and genomics. The successful candidate must have a strong background in clinical, basic, or translational research in human genetics. The research program can span a number of different fields, including translating genomic information into novel therapies, predicting genomic risk for human diseases, and/or genomic medicine implementation. We seek faculty members interested in working in a fast paced, highly collaborative environment in which interdisciplinary teams of data scientists, clinician scientists, and disease area experts work together with the shared goal of leveraging large-scale data to predict, test, and translate genomic information into new paradigms for genomic health.

This will be a faculty appointment at a rank commensurate with experience. Candidates should have advanced training in genomic medicine, with a track record of innovation and scholarship in this field, as evidenced by a strong publication record. Faculty at DGM/IGH have full access to the BioMe biobank (a germline DNA repository of over 60,000 Mount Sinai patients linked to EHR data), freely available, state-of-the-art high performance computing ecosystem, and institutional expertise in many areas of genomic medicine. Additionally, through the newly launched Mount Sinai Million Health Discoveries Program, which aims to enroll one million racially and ethnically diverse patients in the next five years, we plan to advance precision medicine research and improve patient care.
