Oregon's Literacy Framework - Community and Educator Feedback

In 2022 and 2023, Oregon Department of Education (ODE) is undertaking a major revision of the state’s 2009 Literacy Framework in order to elevate current research about literacy instruction and language development. The revised framework will elevate knowledge and practices that have emerged from decades of research, which have become collectively known as the science of reading. The Framework will include research about teaching literacy to all students, including multilingual students, students experiencing disability, and students who speak other dialects of English.

Please share your thoughts with us! We welcome input from all members of the community. This form is an opportunity for initial feedback to help inform our planning for early revisions of the framework. More comprehensive feedback will be solicited at a later time.

If you would like to share more comments or receive updates about the revision process, please email k5.literacy@ode.oregon.gov.
