INPACT Scholarship

Indiana University School of Medicine INdiana Primary Care Advancement in Clinical Training (INPACT)

The INPACT Scholarship is part of a federal grant program made possible through the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA), a government agency that is tasked with improving the national healthcare workforce to meet the needs of the country. The INPACT Scholarship is focused on ways to increase the number of graduates who pursue training in primary care fields, with attention to providing care for the underserved. The HRSA grant makes it possible for IUSM to offer a scholarship (up to $20,000) to graduating Class of 2026 students who are pursuing a residency program in a primary care field in pediatrics, family medicine, internal medicine, and medicine/pediatrics, as defined by HRSA, so unfortunately, there are no similar scholarships for IUSM graduates going into all other disciplines. The HRSA funding requires limiting the awards to those pursuing these four areas. The idea behind the primary care scholarships is to offset some costs faced by graduating students as they finish up their training program and prepare to transition into a residency program in a primary care field.

It is possible that the INPACT Scholarship may replace student loans already accepted. For example, if you already have an IUSM scholarship in the amount of $5000, then your potential INPACT Scholarship will be $15,000.
