Please use this form to nominate 4th-year undergraduate students for the Excellence in Undergraduate Research Award.


Nominations for the award may be submitted by faculty members, research advisors, or collaborators. (Self-nominations are not permitted).



The Excellence in Undergraduate Research Award recognizes a 4th-year undergraduate student who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in research within the department. This award celebrates individuals who have made significant contributions to their field through innovative research, dedication to scholarly inquiry, and the advancement of knowledge.



AWARD CRITERIA

The recipient of the Excellence in Undergraduate Research Award will have demonstrated any of the following:


Research Excellence:

  • Completion of a high-quality research project or thesis that exhibits originality, rigor, and intellectual depth.
  • Evidence of significant contributions to the development or execution of the research, including problem identification, methodology, and analysis.


Impact and Contribution:

  • Research findings that advance knowledge in the field or address relevant issues within the discipline.
  • Contribution to collaborative research efforts or mentoring of peers in research activities.



Engagement with the Research Community:

  • Presentation of research findings at departmental seminars, conferences, or other academic forums.
  • Authorship or co-authorship of publications, posters, or reports related to their research.



Commitment to Research Growth:

  • Ongoing development of research skills and active pursuit of opportunities to expand their expertise.
  • Participation in workshops, training programs, or interdisciplinary collaborations to enhance research quality.


This can include abstracts, presentations, or publications resulting from the nominee’s research, especially as related to the above criteria.
