Availability and Role interest

The Roles

We have two exciting roles available; On-pitch volunteers and Off-pitch volunteers. Read on to find out how you can become an important team member to help us create a unique experience for young people and their coaches!

Role 1: 20x positions

On-pitch volunteers

Your role as an On-Pitch Volunteer will be integral to supporting the different formats of football matches taking place across the event. This is a dynamic role where you will help ensure the games run smoothly and that young players have a positive, safe experience. Responsibilities include:

•    Support the Delivery of Football Formats:

You’ll assist in the setup and organisation of various football matches, including 1v1 through to 5v5 games, on the inflatable pitches provided by 3v3UK. These fast-paced formats are designed to give young people a fun and competitive experience.

•    Score the Games:

You’ll use a bespoke scoring system to accurately track and record match scores.

•    Applying the Rules of the Game:

It will be your responsibility to ensure that all participants, aged 12-16, follow the rules of the game. You’ll monitor the matches, help ensure fair play, and step in when necessary to remind players of the rules.

•    Player Safety and Engagement:

Above all, you’ll ensure the safety and well-being of the young players during the games. You will also keep an eye on the players’ enjoyment and make sure they’re actively engaged and having fun throughout the event.

•    Collaborate with Coaches:

Work closely with coaches and event staff to coordinate match schedules, assist with player coordination, and provide support where needed to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Role 2: 9x positions

Off-pitch volunteers

As an Off-Pitch Volunteer, you will lead interactive activities designed to educate young people about essential life skills beyond football. This role is about fostering positive habits and promoting well-being. Your responsibilities include:

•    Lead Educational Activities:

Deliver short (20-minute), pre-planned activites focusing on topics such as healthy eating, mental well-being, and the principles of thinking well. These sessions will help young people develop skills to make better choices both on and off the pitch.

•    Engage Young People with Interactive Content:

Use engaging methods such as discussions, games, and activities to encourage participation and ensure that the material is fun and memorable. Help young people understand how they can apply the concepts of healthy living and positive thinking to their daily lives.

•    Manage Group Dynamics:

You’ll work with small groups of participants, guiding them through the workshops and fostering a positive, inclusive environment where all voices are heard.

•    Promote Healthy Lifestyles:

Encourage young people to adopt healthy eating habits, mental resilience, and positive thinking practices. The goal is to inspire lasting changes that can benefit them both on the pitch and in their everyday lives.

•    Feedback and Evaluation:

Assist with tracking participant engagement and gather feedback to improve future workshops. Contribute to the ongoing evaluation of the programme to ensure it remains effective and engaging for all participants.
