Department Conference Travel Grant
The Department of Communication provides grants to all registered students who are invited to present papers or posters at professional conferences.
Award amounts are based on geographic location, not actual expenses, and we use the same award amounts as the Graduate School. Awards will not exceed $700. Grants for online conferences are capped at $200.
Funds for poster printing are also available through this form, either as an add-on to your conference grant request or on its own (complete the entire form and be sure to check the box indicating you're only interested in poster printing funds). Please note that poster printing funds are limited, may not cover the entire cost of printing, and are restricted to plotter printing at the Mann circulation desk. Additionally, your poster must include the official Cornell University logo.
If you are traveling internationally, you are required to register your trip with the University's travel registry.
Students are eligible for one department conference travel grant per year (July 1 through June 30). Applications are accepted up to 30 days after the start date of the conference. This award is taxable and international students from non-tax treaty countries will automatically have 14% deducted from the award. Awards will be posted on or about the 15th of every month. If you end up not attending the conference, you must return any dispersed funds promptly.
