Counseling Volunteer Application

Let Them Live (LTL)

Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering with Let Them Live (LTL)! Our non-profit

organization is dedicated to fighting abortion and offering hope to mothers in need. We're

currently seeking English-speaking and bilingual Spanish-speaking volunteers to join our

Counseling Department. The next volunteer training session begins on June 23rd, 2025. Please

carefully read the descriptions of the volunteer positions below.


1. Pregnancy Counselor (PC)


Role Overview:

As a Pregnancy Counselor (PC), you will play a pivotal role in supporting mothers who are

considering abortion. You’ll connect with women who are either contemplating or have already

scheduled an abortion. Your goal will be to provide emotional support, guidance, and practical

resources, helping them choose life for their unborn child. This role requires a more significant

time commitment due to the intensity of each mom scenario.


Responsibilities:


• Commit to 10 hours a month (spread across multiple days, not in one sitting).

• Provide emotional support and connect mothers with appropriate resources.

• Document key details and updates in the system, utilizing Google Workspace.

• Collaborate with the LTL team to assess needs and offer continued help.

• Stay in regular contact with the mother as her pregnancy progresses.


Training & Requirements:


6-8 weeks of training (1 hour/week) + 5 hours/week of homework/study.

• Become HIPAA compliant as part of the training.

• Must be 21 or older and female applicants only.


2. Resource Counselor


Role Overview:

As a Resource Counselor (RC), you will support mothers in need of local and government resources. You will provide a compassionate ear and help mothers navigate available support services. You will also identify mom scenarios that require a more in-depth approach, referring them to a Pregnancy Counselor when necessary.


Responsibilities:


• Commit up to 5 hours a month (spread across multiple days, not in one sitting).

• Assist mothers in locating local, governmental, and community resources.

• Maintain documentation of interactions and progress using Google Workspace.

• Refer mothers to Pregnancy Counselors as needed for further support.


Training & Requirements:


3 weeks of training (1 hour/week) + 3 hours/week of homework/study.

• Become HIPAA compliant as part of the training.

• Must be 18 or older and female applicants only.


3. Hotline Specialist (HS)


Role Overview:

As a Hotline Specialist (HS), you’ll be the first point of contact for mothers reaching out for help. You will respond promptly to inquiries via text message, phone call, or submission forms. After assessing the situation, you will create a profile for the mother and connect her to the appropriate person in the Counseling Dept. for further assistance. This role requires flexibility for evening and weekend shifts.


Responsibilities:


• Commit up to 6 hours per week (must be blocked out in 6-hour increments).

• Respond quickly to inquiries from mothers seeking help.

• Assist in creating profiles for new moms

• Use Google Workspace for documentation and communication.


Training & Requirements:


1 week of training (2 sessions per week) + 3 hours/week of homework/study.

• Become HIPAA compliant as part of the training.

• Must be 18 or older and female applicants only.
