Honors Requirements

To join the honors program in the Department of Economics, you must agree to the requirements below

I understand that the Department of Economics Honors Program requires completing 85 economics units instead of 80 units.*

I understand that my GPA in Econ courses (excluding Econ 139D and 199D) must be at least a 3.4, in order to graduate with honors (3.4 GPA is an exception allowed only for 2020-21 honors due to COVID-19 and S grades in spring 2020)*

I understand that I must enroll in one unit of the Director of the Honors Program’s section of Econ 199D in winter quarter.*

I understand that I must enroll in 1-9 units of my Honors Advisor’s section of Econ 199D during any or all quarters of the academic year I applied*

I understand that my honors advisor and the Director of the Honors Program may require that I complete Econ 101 to meet the WIM requirement if I have not made sufficient progress on my honors thesis by the end winter quarter.*

I agree to have my honors thesis available online in the Stanford Digital Repository (SDR) with the link on the Department of Economics website.*
