Visiting Research Scholars at McIntire

Program Description

Visiting Research Scholars are research colleagues external to UVA who spend between a month and a year at McIntire to collaborate with McIntire faculty colleagues on shared research interests. The purpose of the Visiting Research Scholar program is to stimulate deep, sustained research engagement. As such, VRS colleagues are expected to truly be in-residence, participate fully in Area and School functions, and lead colleagues in at least two research presentations (an initial presentation to help familiarize the Area with one's research interests, and a culminating presentation that highlights any research projects launched as a result of the visit).

With the assumption that VRS colleagues are receiving full salary on sabbatical, the program will reimburse up to $9,000 in qualified expenses (i.e. travel, housing, relocation), will reimburse non-U.S. VRS colleagues for their visa fees, provide shared work space, a $250 meals allocation to network with colleagues, and will support the VRS with connections to secure appropriate local housing for individuals and (if needed) families.

Please include both McIntire faculty and non-McIntire faculty with whom you intend to collaborate during the visitation.

Please indicate any additional notes regarding the start date, end date or intended duration of your visit.

Please include details here on your methods, interests in collaborating with McIntire faculty, and potential intentions for publication.

Please upload your updated CV, preferably in pdf format.
