In accordance with 40 CFR 262.17(b) and 40 CFR 262.16(d) (as incorporated by reference), large and small quantity generators of hazardous waste may request an extension to the following waste storage time limits if waste must remain onāsite longer than:
180 days (or 270 days if the waste must be transported a distance of 200 miles or more) for small quantity generators (SQG).
90 days for large quantity generators (LQG).
Attention: You must submit the extension request before the expiration of the initial 90-day/180-day accumulation time limit based on your generator category. Additionally, you must submit any subsequent 30-day extension requests before the expiration of the previous extension.
The Solid and Hazardous Waste Division may grant a 30-day extension to qualifying generators who expect to exceed their time limits due to unforeseen, temporary, and uncontrollable circumstances. We will grant hazardous waste storage extensions on a case-by-case basis.
