Humanitarian Technology Programs at IEEE
This form was created by the IEEE Humanitarian Technologies Board (HTB) to inventory humanitarian technology programs and activities across IEEE. HTB wants to learn about the extent and impact of the humanitarian technology programs, projects, activities, and events that you or your organizational unit are planning, have recently completed, or that are ongoing.
This information will allow HTB to share meaningful insight into effective humanitarian technology practices and provide better support for IEEE members and organizational units to continue this type of work even more successfully.
Humanitarian technology activities are defined as those IEEE programs and activities focused principally on applying science, engineering, and technology to satisfy the unaddressed social needs of specific communities which are not adequately served by existing government, commercial, or non-commercial services.
Programs should be conducted by IEEE Members and supported by an IEEE operating unit (IEEE Student Branch, IEEE Region, IEEE Section, IEEE Society or committee of an IEEE Society, etc). Please do not include those that are strictly charitable (the donation of items or money), or those where the primary focus is STEM education (workshops, courses, camps, materials, etc.).
Programs & activities that are primarily focused on addressing climate change should be reported using this form instead.
All one-time, small-scale activities should be reported using vTools events.
Thank you.
