British Open Championships

BF is mindful of the rising costs of attending fencing events and the potential barrier to participation this creates for some members of our community.


As a result, BF is offering a limited number of free entries to athletes wishing to enter the British Open Championships. These will be offered based on financial need, not on ability. This scheme will cover 100% of the entry fee cost, and for the individual event only.


One application should be completed per athlete. All applications will be checked by BF staff to check that the minimum eligibility is met before being passed to the panel.

Applications must be completed per athlete. For multiple athletes from one household, please complete separate application forms.

All applicants will be told the outcome of their application by close of play on Friday 30th May 2025


Applicants will then be contacted by the BF Events Team with further information on how to enter the event.

Entry Fee Support Scheme Application

If you are applying for the Entry Fee Support Scheme, please do not enter the event until you have learnt the outcome of your application. You will find out whether your application has been successful or not before the entry deadline for the competition.


At this point, if you are successful, you will receive a voucher code to use at the checkout to enter the event. If you are unsuccessful, you will be able to enter and pay through the BF Events platform.
