Summary

The first of its kind – a webinar dedicated to emerging leaders in the profession. We'll explore the value of career planning for young professionals in achieving career success. The speakers will share insights into an effective career plan's components and examine how The IIA's Internal Audit Competency framework can be used as a foundation for developing a career plan. Attendees will receive a Career Mapping Tool to help bring their goals in focus. Limited to age 35 and under.

Speakers

Carrie Summerlin Carrie is vice president of the Internal Audit Foundation, the research and grant-making arm of The Institute of Internal Auditors, which serves more than 200,000 members globally. She provides oversight for the Foundation's focus areas, including research and content development, academic grant programs, fundraising, strategic relationship management, and retail operations. During her 17-year tenure with The IIA, Summerlin has led various departments, including conferences, membership and chapter relations, and marketing. Before her appointment to the Foundation, she served as the managing director of conference and event operations. Lisa Hirtzinger Lisa is The IIA’s senior vice president of training and development, focused on developing relevant curriculum and conferences delivered via multiple learning modalities, including in-person, online, facilitator-led, and self-directed, to meet practitioners’ professional development needs. In her 15-year IIA tenure, Hirtzinger has held multiple roles, ensuring high-quality, relevant content is available to support, enable, and assess practitioners worldwide. In her previous role as vice president of professional knowledge and assessment, she was responsible for standards, guidance, and quality services. She also served in director roles in training curriculum, professional guidance, and exam development. Prior to The IIA, Hirtzinger worked in the audit profession at Ernst & Young, LLP and Wells Fargo.
