HB1543 Survey
We invite you to take the HB 1543 Survey! The Clean Buildings Team seeks your suggestions for alternative compliance pathways, extensions, and exemption ideas.
Commerce is in the process of filing the CR-101 to initiate the rulemaking process and solicit public comments. After the CR-101 is filed, Commerce will host a series of workshops to establish rules and reporting requirements for HB1543.
HB1543 was an agency request legislation which reflected the recommendations of the 2024 clean buildings workgroup report. The bill focused on expanding options and timelines for achieving compliance with the Clean Buildings Performance Standard.
Three key components of the bill:
- Authority to create and adopt alternative CBPS compliance metrics, resulting in more flexibility
- Commerce can grant timeline extensions to building owners working toward compliance
- Commerce has the ability to introduce additional exemption categories to the standard
Before our informational session on June 18, complete this survey to share your recommendations on alternate compliance metrics, extensions, and exemptions.
Please review the legislation for additional information. HB1543.
