Consultant: A person who is not a Mirum employee, has documented expertise and is contracted by Mirum or another entity to provide advice, guidance, and/or training on the area of expertise. This person will not perform GxP regulated activities or sign documents on Mirum’s behalf. (They may sign training documentation or assessments performed per contract in the area of expertise).

Example: Former regulatory agency inspectors/employees who provide guidance or training in specific regulatory areas.

Contractor: A person who is not a Mirum employee that is contracted by Mirum or another entity to perform duties that may or may not include performing GxP regulated activities on Mirum’s behalf. These activities may include reviewing data or records, authoring of documents, records, or reports, and/or performing audits.

Temporary: Contracted to work for a short amount of time.

Intern: a student or trainee who works, sometimes without pay, at a trade or occupation in order to gain work experience

Agency: a business or organization established to provide a particular service, typically one that involves organizing transactions between two other parties

GxP: A general term for Good Practice guidelines. The purpose of the GxP guidelines is to ensure a product is safe and meets its intended use. These guidelines are used in many fields including the pharmaceutical industry. The titles of these guidelines begin with “Good” and end in “Practice”, with the specific practice in between. GxP represents the abbreviations of these titles, where x (a common symbol for a variable) represents the specific descriptor. A “c” representing current is sometimes added to the front of these acronyms. Examples include Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Distribution Practice (GDP), Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).

By default, all contractors/consultants will a Mirum email address have ComplianceWire & DocuSign. Some applications required additional training/approval to gain access. Certain applications require an Okta account.
