Introduction:
Ethos Veterinary Health established a focus group and tasked the members with reaching a consensus on the competencies of a board-certified veterinary radiologist. These competencies are being developed to guide residency training programs for board-certified veterinary radiologists interested in creating or transitioning to a competency-based curriculum.
Competency-based veterinary education is an approach aimed at preparing career-ready graduates to address the needs of animals and meet societal expectations. This approach emphasizes outcomes-based and learner-centered education and assessment.
The focus group has completed the first draft of the competency list, which includes 52 competencies. All these competencies are considered core to veterinary radiologist education. Some competencies lend themselves to assessment in a clinical context, while others may be better assessed in a non-clinical setting. Illustrative sub-competencies that provide examples within a contextualized curriculum have not yet been identified. These will be developed once the competency framework has been established based on data from this survey.
Survey Purpose:
The focus group is seeking feedback on the competency framework from a broad workforce audience. At this time, we would like to understand the importance you place on including these competencies within a residency training program curriculum. Your feedback will help us confirm the accuracy of the framework and identify any competencies that may be missing or need clarification. We expect that completing this survey will take approximately 15 minutes.
Survey participant responses will remain anonymous. Data from this survey may be included in a research study intended for publication. Participation in this survey is optional. You may skip any questions you do not wish to answer. You can stop participating at any time by closing your browser. Since responses are collected anonymously, individual responses cannot be removed. Any responses collected before your withdrawal will be retained.
Participants consent to participate in the study by clicking the continue button on the first page of the survey.
