This form and process is intended for HR requests only.
This form can be used to request a recruitment (new, refill, retiree, TES, contractor), permanent or temporary increase in pay (i.e., stipend, equity, retention, etc.), reclassification, or job description update for positions and employees within HR across Campus and Health.
Before completing this form, critically assess the need for the request. This assessment should consider operational requirements, workload distribution, potential for job consolidation or reassignment of tasks to existing staff, and a discussion with colleagues about other ways to effectively address the need.
- Staff on Leave: While staff on various types of leave will help to offset the FTE count, the process for temporary replacements should follow the same justification procedure, with a clear indication of the position's temporary nature.
- Potential Retirements: For positions with potential retirements, HR Managers should proactively consider succession plans and/or redistribution of workload. If a successor or alternative solution already exists within the organization, justification for replacement may not be necessary.
- Organizational Fluidity: As we navigate this period of transition, there may be a need for flexibility and creativity in role assignments and reassignments. Cross-training, job sharing, and flexible job descriptions may become crucial tools for meeting our FTE reduction goal.
- Transparency and Communication: Changes in the staffing structure should be communicated transparently and promptly to all staff members to avoid misunderstandings and to maintain staff morale.
