The Neurosciences IDP Mental Health Support Fund is a pilot program that provides funding to Neurosciences IDP students for mental health costs. Mental health expenses will be reimbursed to reduce copays to $5 per therapist visit or prescription, up to a maximum of $1,300 reimbursement per academic year.

Application Deadlines for 2024-25:

• Autumn: November 4, 2024
• Winter: February 13, 2025
• Spring/Summer: June 23, 2025

Read and Review:

•    Neurosciences IDP students must be enrolled at the time the expenses are incurred to be considered for funding. Funding will be in the form of a stipend payment.

•    Uninsured or unreimbursed medical expenses must be incurred during the current academic year.

•    Documentation of the costs – via receipts for expenses already paid and/or a treatment plan for future costs – is required to complete this request. If there is an ongoing treatment plan, students should submit receipts for the initial reimbursement as well as documentation of the treatment plan for pre-payment of future anticipated expenses. If pre-payment is approved and disbursed, students do not need to submit additional requests/forms for those costs but may need to present receipts upon request.

Please allow 2-4 weeks for application review and award notification.

Please note: Application information will be kept confidential. However, we do request that you do not submit any documents with any diagnostic information. Your request will be reviewed for completeness, and financial details may be shared with the finance team for award-distribution purposes. Awards will be entered via GFS; for privacy purposes - entries will be identified as "Neuro- MWP" and should appear on your bill with a similar name. Please note that any awarded funding is considered taxable income, and recipients will need to comply with IRS guidelines.
