The Diocesan Education Leaders Programme 2019–20

Diocesan Education Leaders Programme (DELP) has been designed by the Church of England Foundation for Educational Leadership in partnership with Human Dimensions who work in collaboration with Trinity College, Bristol.

The programme is primarily open to current Directors of Education, Deputy DDEs and others seen as having the potential to move into these roles. All applicants will have obtained the endorsement of the Diocesan Board of Education and/or their Diocesan or suffrogan Bishop before submitting an application.

This programme will bring DDEs and aspiring DDEs together to learn from experts, learn from each other, and together leave a legacy of shared best practice. This will be achieved through:

• Locating their role and practice as an expression of the Church of England’s vision for education and also as an expression of God’s work
• Nurturing both their personal and spiritual formation
• Reflecting on concepts, practices, and tools which enable effective leadership
• Contributing to the research and development of shared best practice among and across the DDE network

The programme will consist of three short residential workshops interspersed with five one-day action learning sets. Participants will also be involved in designing and completing a research project.

We are grateful to the All Churches Trust which has made a significant financial contribution to support the development and delivery of the programme for the first two cohorts.

Places across the two cohorts are strictly limited.


Please note that ALL the sections of this form will need to be completed within the same session. Although the form will not reset at any point while you are filling in the sections, it cannot be saved and revisited again at a later date/ time.

You will need to ensure you have all your information, including any PDF signed and dated statement of your sponsor, prior to completing and submitting the form.

At the end of the form there is a box provided, which must be ticked in order for you to receive a copy of your submission. Once submitted, you will receive an automated response confirming that we have received your application. You will also receive a subsequent email explaining what to expect next.

To ensure the success of the programme delegates must be committed to their own personal development and supporting that of the wider group. How would you hope to approach this programme to maximise the benefit to yourself and colleagues?



We are grateful to the All Churches Trust which has made a significant financial contribution to support the development and delivery of the programme for the first two cohorts. The cost of the Diocesan Education Leaders’ Programme will therefore be minimal.

Participating Diocese will be expected to contribute £750 per delegate towards the total cost of their participation in the programme (over £6,000). Delegates, through their Diocese, as appropriate, will be expected to cover the cost of their own travel arrangements.

The Foundation for Educational Leadership will invoice Dioceses directly and request prompt payment to secure your place on the programme. If you have made alternative arrangements for payment, then please indicate this in the NOTES box further below in this application.

Payment

Payment is expected by end of July 2019.

Diocese or other elected parties will be invoiced by the end of June, allowing 30 days for payment. Places on the programme will not be finally confirmed until payment has been made.

Cancellation policy

Once you have been accepted on to the programme and payment has been received, no refunds can be made for cancellation or withdrawal (by the participant or sponsor), except in exceptional circumstances which will be considered on an individual basis.
