Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) Train-the-Trainer

To be eligible to participate in the ARA Certified MEWP Trainer program, you must:


  • Be at least 20 years old at time of training (at least 18 years old plus 2 years of experience).
  • Work for a company with ARA membership.
  • Hold certification as a MEWP operator for at least two years, with no significant lapses in operating a MEWP during that time.
  • Have experience with the kind(s) of MEWP(s) used during the training.
  • Have sufficient knowledge of the regulations, manufacturer’s requirements, and safe use practices.
  • Have the ability to identify and avoid hazards associated with MEWPs and worksites.
  • Ability to speak and read in English.
  • Be physically capable of operating MEWPs and free from any disabilities, infirmities, or incapacities that could impede their ability to operate or train others in MEWP operation.

I acknowledge that I am solely responsible for operating the MEWPs during this training, ensuring safety and caution. I willingly accept full responsibility for any potential loss, property damage, or personal injury, including severe injury or death, that may occur during my participation in this training.

 

By participating in ARA’s MEWP Train-the-Trainer program I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to complete all required materials and fully participate in all the aspects of training. This includes:

  • Completing the online classroom portion prior to the start of the in-person training
  • Earning an 80% or higher on the online classroom portion exam
  • Attending the entire in-person training from beginning to end

I understand that if I do not uphold my responsibilities, ARA has the right to remove me from the program and I will not receive a refund.

 

I acknowledge that I may cancel my registration at any time by sending my request to education@ararental.org. I understand that any cancellations made within 2 days of the scheduled in-person training session may not be eligible for a refund. ARA acknowledges that unforeseen circumstances can arise, and exceptions to this policy may be considered in extenuating circumstances.
