Work Experience (WEX) General Interest Form
Are you interested in the Training, Career and Success Work Experience (WEX) Program through the Department of Employment Services Office of Talent & Client Services?
The D.C. Department of Employment Services (DOES) provides career, training, and supportive services to jobseekers, including those with multiple barriers to employment. In addition to career coaching, job search assistance, and other career services, DOES will now also connect eligible Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) participants with our Training, Career, and Success Work Experience Program (TCS). The TCS program provides qualified job seekers with introductory work experiences that will offer professional growth, skill building, and preparation to compete in the job market
TCS PARTICIPANT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
All participants must be enrolled in either the WIOA Adult or Dislocated Worker programs to be eligible for TCS. TCS participants must be unemployed or underemployed (defined as less than $1520 per month), and have at least one of the work history barriers listed below:
• Little to no work history (less than 2 years total);
• Unemployed long-term currently (longer than six months); or
• Underemployed currently with a recent long-term gap in employment (a gap longer than six months
in the last twelve months)
WEX training wages are currently $17.00 an hour; for up to 40 hours a week, for 4 months(16 weeks; or 640 hours).

Participation Requirements:
ALL CANDIDATES must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
ALL CANDIDATES must be able to maintain confidentiality; able to handle difficult situations and persons in a positive and professional manner; able to follow directions; reliable and responsible; and able to pass a drug screening.

ALL CANDIDATES must be deemed WIOA eligible if chosen for all WEX opportunities, in addition to meeting WEX program requirements. More information on eligibility will be provided by assigned American Job Center case manager.
