Para Sport Area of Focused Competence (AFC)

Prior to completing this form:


  • Ensure you meet criteria of HP Certification and minimum 3 years of experience in Para Sport
  • Review the Competency Framework and ensure you can provide a variety of statements and specific examples that are para-specific
  • Complete the AFC Competency Submission Form (for competencies 1-4)
  • Prepare the case study power point slide deck (for competency 5). See template on the SSC website.
  • Prepare copy of your current resume illustrating your experience in Para sport
  • Acquire a reference letter from your HP sport employer - NSO or CSI (template available on the SSC website)


Acquiring the Para sport AFC does not change your SSC Membership, however it does confirm Para Sport Specialization designation.
