New PAID Crew

This application is intended for 2 types of individuals: those who have volunteered or participated in a Labor of Love program with Clean Vibes but not held an official paid crew position OR those who have never been involved with Clean Vibes in any way but would like to apply for a paid crew position. Even if you were a volunteer that was hired on for pay for a few days following a festival, this is still the application for you!

All applications must be received no later than Monday, March 11, 2019. We will notify all applicants of our decisions no later than Monday, April 15, 2019. Please note that some applicants may receive notification of our hiring decisions for events in May prior to April 15th. All applicants will receive a response from us no later than April 15th, including applicants to whom we will not be offering positions. Please do not email to check in about the status of your application prior to April 15th. Application status inquiries will not receive a response.

You may register to volunteer for any available event before we make our hiring decisions. If you are hired for a paid crew position for that event, we will simply remove you from the volunteer list and return all deposits and fees submitted. If you are hired for that event after you have already registered, we will remove you from the volunteer list and refund any deposits and/or administrative fees you may have submitted. Central to the mission of Clean Vibes are the concepts of environmental education and stewardship. How do you feel these concepts play a role in your life? Do you feel that your own beliefs and values would fit well within an organization that places a significant focus on these concepts?

As a member of a Clean Vibes crew, employees will be working long hours for consecutive days, often under a great amount of pressure and stress. Key to the success of an efficient and content crew is the ability of each member to communicate openly and effectively within the crew. Please discuss how you would help to keep the lines of communication open between all members of the crew and how you would help to alleviate the stress and tension that can sometimes arise between crew members. Also note any previous experiences you have had with either group dynamics or similar work environments that you feel have taught you how to work effectively in groups under adverse conditions.

Robert Hunter’s words “One man gathers what another man spills” relate closely to the work and beliefs of Clean Vibes (with the exception of his lack of gender neutrality). Beyond the gathering work that we do, however, is the larger goal of reducing that which is spilled while at the same time increasing participation in the gathering process. How do you feel we can decrease the waste produced at festivals and increase the participation by festival attendees in the waste management process?
