For current MBA students

Application Procedures

Submit your completed application by 12pm on Friday, October 25, 2024. You will be notified of our decision by Friday, November 1, 2024.


Please note: accepted MA/MBA students are expected to enroll in EDUC 393 "Proseminar: Education, Business, Politics" in Winter Quarter of their first year. Conflicts with EDUC 393 attendance will not be approved.

The MA/MBA degree program is designed to start during students' first year, and students are highly encouraged to apply at that time. In exceptional cases, second-year GSB students may apply by the deadline indicated above. Students should demonstrate their interest and commitment to the MA/MBA degree by completing or enrolling in a minimum of 9 EDUC units by the time of their application in the second year. This is a minimum requirement, however does not guarantee acceptance.


Please list all current and previous EDUC coursework here.

E.g., EDUC 100 (4 units, Autumn 2024); EDUC 200 (5 units, Spring 2024)

Please upload a statement of purpose describing your interest in the Joint Degree program. Your statement should be typed, single-spaced, and should be between 2-3 pages in length. Describe succinctly your reasons for applying to the Joint MA/MBA program, your preparation for this field of study and why our program is a good fit for you, your future career plans, and other aspects of your background as well as interests which may aid the admissions committee in evaluating your aptitude and motivation.
